Your Weekly Guide to Things to Do in Westlake Florida
Hey Westlake neighbors — it’s Tuesday, which means it’s time to check in on what’s going on around our community over the next eight days. Whether you’ve lived here for years or just moved in, there is always something worth knowing about in this city. From city-organized activities to what’s buzzing around Town Center, here’s your rundown of what to put on your radar from today through next Tuesday.
If you’re new here or still exploring the area, I’m Carlos Santana, The Westlake Expert — and keeping you informed about this community is one of my favorite parts of the job. This isn’t just a market I work in. It’s home.
City of Westlake Events This Week
The City of Westlake keeps a steady calendar of programming for residents, and this stretch is no exception. The city has been active in building out its community programming, especially around Adventure Park and the Town Center corridor along Seminole Pratt Whitney Road. Here’s what residents should be aware of heading into this week and next.
Adventure Park — Your Outdoor Backyard
Adventure Park continues to be the heartbeat of this community, and for good reason. Families are out there every single day using the trails, the splash pad, the tennis courts, and the open green spaces. If you haven’t taken a walk through recently, this week is a great excuse to go. Early mornings and late afternoons are the sweet spots right now — the Florida heat in the middle of the day is not your friend in late spring, so plan accordingly.
Keep an eye on the city’s website for any scheduled programming at the park. Movie nights, fitness events, and pop-up activities get added regularly and sometimes on short notice. It pays to check in often if you want to catch something fun with the family.
Town Center Activity
Town Center remains the social anchor of the 33470 zip code. Retailers, restaurants, and community gathering spots are busy, and the area continues to grow. If you haven’t explored lately, there are new options worth checking out. Grab dinner, take a walk, and enjoy the fact that this kind of walkable community hub right here in western Palm Beach County was not something most people expected when Westlake broke ground.
Keep an eye on community boards and the city’s social channels for any vendor markets or outdoor events that may pop up near Town Center over the next week. These tend to be neighborhood favorites and fill up fast.
Things to Do in Westlake Florida With the Whole Family
One of the questions I get most from people considering a move here is — “but what do you actually do there on weekends?” I love that question because the answer keeps getting better every year. Here are a few ways to fill your next eight days if you’re looking for things to do in Westlake Florida without driving halfway across Palm Beach County.
Get Out on the Trails
Westlake’s trail network is genuinely one of the underrated perks of living here. Whether you’re walking, jogging, biking, or pushing a stroller, the paths that wind through the community connect neighborhoods in a way that naturally builds relationships with your neighbors. Spring evenings right now are some of the best walking weather we’ll have before full summer heat settles in. Take advantage.
Pool Time at the Amenity Center
If your neighborhood amenity center has pool access, now is the time to use it. The weather is warm but not yet at peak summer intensity. Residents in Minto Communities in Westlake have access to resort-style amenities that are genuinely hard to beat for this price point in South Florida. If you’ve been meaning to actually use what you’re paying HOA fees for — this is your week.
55+ Neighbors at Cresswind
For our neighbors over at Cresswind of Palm Beach, the activity calendar inside that community is typically packed this time of year. From fitness classes to social clubs to organized group activities, Cresswind continues to deliver on the active adult lifestyle it promises. If you know someone looking for a 55+ community that actually keeps people engaged, Westlake is worth a serious look.
What’s Coming Up — Mark Your Calendar
Looking ahead through next Tuesday, here are a few things worth putting on your radar:
Stay Connected With City Communications
Westlake does a solid job of pushing out event information through its official channels. I always recommend that residents sign up for city notifications directly through the City of Westlake website so you don’t miss last-minute announcements. Community meetings, public hearings, and special events all get posted there first.
School Year Wind-Down
For families with kids in Palm Beach County Schools, the end of the school year is approaching fast. That means end-of-year events, graduations, and scheduling shifts for families across ZIP code 33470. If you’ve got kids at Westlake Elementary, Osceola Creek Middle, or Seminole Ridge High School, check your school calendars now so nothing sneaks up on you.
Weekend Outdoor Markets and Pop-Ups
Western Palm Beach County tends to see an uptick in outdoor markets, food trucks, and community pop-up events as we approach summer. Watch the city’s social media pages and local community groups for anything scheduled near Seminole Pratt Whitney Road or the Town Center area. These events are a great way to connect with neighbors and support local vendors who call this area home.
A Note on Staying Plugged In as a Westlake Resident
One thing I hear from newer residents is that they sometimes feel out of the loop on what’s happening locally. My honest advice — get connected to your HOA communication channels, follow the city’s official pages, and talk to your neighbors. Westlake is still a young city, which means the community identity is being shaped right now by the people who live here. That’s an opportunity, not a drawback.
And of course, check back here every Tuesday for your weekly community guide. Keeping you informed is something I take seriously at SANTANA HOMES — because a well-informed neighbor is a happy neighbor, and happy neighbors make great communities.
