Your Weekly Guide to Things to Do in Westlake Florida
Hey Westlake neighbors — it’s Tuesday, which means it’s time to check in on what’s going on around our community this week and into the weekend ahead. Whether you’ve lived here for years or you just got your keys a few months ago, one of the things I hear most from residents is that they love how much is actually happening right here without having to drive all the way into the city. That’s one of the things that sets Westlake apart, and I want to make sure you’re not missing any of it.
I’m Carlos Santana, The Westlake Expert, and every Tuesday I pull together what’s happening in and around the 33470 ZIP code so you can plan your week. Let’s get into it.
Adventure Park — Your Backyard Playground Is Open
If you haven’t been out to Adventure Park lately, let this be your reminder. The park continues to be one of the most talked-about amenities in all of Palm Beach County, and for good reason. We’re heading into some of the best outdoor weather of the year right now, and the park is a great way to take advantage of it.
The Adventure Park splash pad, trails, and open green spaces are available to Westlake residents, and it’s the kind of place where you’ll always run into neighbors. Bring the kids, bring the dog, and plan to stay a while. If you’re newer to the community and haven’t explored the full park yet, this week is a great time to do that.
Check the City of Westlake official website for current hours, any scheduled maintenance closures, and upcoming organized events at the park. They keep that calendar updated, and it’s worth bookmarking.
Town Center — What’s Going On This Week
Community Gathering Space
The Town Center area along Seminole Pratt Whitney Road continues to be the social hub of Westlake. Whether you’re grabbing coffee, meeting a neighbor, or just enjoying the walkable layout that was thoughtfully built into this community from day one, Town Center gives Westlake a real neighborhood feel that a lot of newer Florida developments simply don’t have.
Keep an eye out this week for any pop-up activities or informal community gatherings. The City of Westlake has been consistent about activating that space, and residents are responding. If you see something going on when you drive through, stop and say hello — that’s genuinely how friendships get made out here.
Local Businesses Worth Supporting
One of the things I’m proud of as someone who lives and works in this community is how our local business scene keeps growing. When you spend your dollars at businesses in and around Westlake, you’re investing in the long-term vibrancy of the place you chose to call home. That matters for property values just as much as it matters for community culture.
If you haven’t checked out what’s available near Town Center recently, take a look this week. You might be surprised what’s opened up.
Things to Do in Westlake Florida — Looking Ahead Through Next Tuesday
Outdoor Recreation and Parks
Beyond Adventure Park, Palm Beach County offers a solid network of nature preserves and recreational facilities within a short drive of Westlake. The Palm Beach County parks system maintains several spots west of the turnpike that are worth exploring if you want to get outside this week. Trails, fishing spots, and open fields — there’s a lot more out here than people sometimes realize when they first move to the area.
For families with younger kids, I’d also point you back to Adventure Park first. It’s purpose-built for exactly this kind of family outdoor time and it’s right in your backyard.
School and Youth Activities
If you’ve got kids in the Palm Beach County Schools system, spring activities and end-of-year events are starting to fill up the calendar. Check your school’s communication channels this week — there are likely performances, field days, and volunteer opportunities coming up over the next few weeks that you won’t want to miss.
Westlake families have been vocal about the quality of the schools serving this community, and staying plugged into those school events is one of the best ways to stay connected to your neighbors.
Community Fitness and Wellness
Things to do in Westlake Florida don’t have to be big scheduled events to matter. The community’s design — with its walking paths, green spaces, and accessible layout — makes everyday fitness genuinely easy here. This week, challenge yourself to walk a route you haven’t done before, or organize a neighbor group walk in the evening when the heat backs off a little. It sounds simple, but that’s exactly the kind of informal community-building that makes Westlake feel like a real neighborhood.
For New Residents — Getting to Know Westlake
I talk to people every week who are considering a move to Westlake, and one of the questions I get most often is what it actually feels like to live here day to day. My honest answer is that it feels like a community that was designed by people who actually thought about how neighbors would interact with each other — not just how many houses could fit on a plot of land.
If you’re curious about what’s available in the community from a housing standpoint — whether you’re looking at resale homes or new construction — I’d encourage you to browse our signature listings to see what’s currently available, or take a look at Minto Communities in Westlake if you’re interested in new construction options. And if you’re 55 or older and looking for an active adult setting, Cresswind of Palm Beach is worth a serious look.
A Quick Note on the Bigger Picture
I know the economic headlines can feel heavy right now. Tariff discussions, inflation concerns, and shifting mortgage rates are all real factors that affect how people think about homeownership. I’ll address the market specifics in Thursday’s Real Talk post and Friday’s Market Pulse, but I want to say this plainly — the things that make Westlake a good place to live are not going away because of what’s happening in Washington or on Wall Street. The community, the amenities, the schools, the neighbors — those are durable. Focus on what you can control, and enjoy where you live this week.
For everything happening here in Westlake, I’m always just a phone call or message away. Stop by SANTANA HOMES online anytime, or contact Carlos today if you have questions about the community, the market, or anything in between.
Enjoy your week, Westlake. Make the most of it.
